Summer Storm on the Plains of Iowa
I was driving south on a straight, narrow two-lane road between the tiny towns of Hawkeye and Maynard in North-East Iowa. Far off in the west was this stunningly beautiful summer storm that was far enough away that it seemed to not move as I drove.
In the foreground, farms of all shapes, sizes, and styles were whipping past me, and I was keeping an eye out for one that looked picturesque against the storm.
I was driving maybe faster then I should have been, and when I glanced over and saw this one, I hit the brakes so hard my poor dog flew off his seat and onto the floor. I apologized to him with a good belly rub… after I took this picture.
This was taken with the only camera I had with me at the time… my iPhone 11. Then I had some fun with color adjustments in Photoshop.
